So this is a substitute of Tar in the distillation plant. Petroleum coke refers to all types of carbonaceous solids obtained in petroleum processing, which includes green or raw, calcined and needle petroleum coke.
It's a black solid residue made out of scraps from other locations. Low Sulphur Petroleum coke is used in many applications, including electrodes and anodes. High Sulphur pet coke is used as a fuel for burning in various or different kinds of furnaces, kilns, and boilers.
It is also used as a fuel in the metal, brick industries, refractory, cements, textiles, plywood manufacturing units, hard coke calcinations units, lime stones, chemical plants, glass manufacturers, silk mills, rolling plants, aluminum industry.
